• Residence / branch in Berlin The vehicle owner is resident in Berlin, or the company or association has its registered office or a branch in Berlin. • The vehicle has not been out of service for more than seven years. • Application for re-registration of a motor vehicle without change of owner You can submit the application online or in person. • The provisional registration certificate can be downloaded online, or issued in person during the appointment. • Proof of identity • For online applications: Have your electronic identity card (Personalausweis), Union citizen's card (eID card), or electronic residence permit (eAT) ready, each with the online ID function (eID) activated, along with your PIN. • For applications in person: Identity card (Personalausweis) or passport with Meldebescheinigung (registration certificate) (original or officially certified copy). If the vehicle is to be registered to a company or association with its seat or a branch in Berlin: ID(s) of the management/board (original). • Zulassungsbescheinigung Teil I (vehicle registration certificate part I / vehicle registration document) • Zulassungsbescheinigung Teil II (vehicle registration certificate part II / vehicle title) / operating permit (for vehicles exempt from registration) • Proof of valid motor vehicle liability insurance via the eVB procedure, with receipt of a seven-digit electronic insurance confirmation number (eVB) • Proof of a valid main inspection (Hauptuntersuchung) in accordance with § 29 StVZO (Road Traffic Licensing Regulations) • License plates (if plates have been reserved) • SEPA direct debit mandate for collection of the motor vehicle tax • For applications in person by companies: extract from the commercial register and trade registration (original or certified copy), ID(s) of the management (original), ID(s) of the authorized representative(s) • For applications in person by associations: extract from the register of associations (original or certified copy), ID(s) of the board (original), ID(s) of the authorized representative(s) • For applications in person involving power of attorney or representation, including for companies or associations: informal power of attorney and ID(s) If you are not coming in person: • written power of attorney • identity document of the person representing you, • your identity document (except in the case of notarized or certified power of attorney)
