• Application for allocation of an export license plate (Ausfuhrkennzeichen) (completed) (under "Forms") • valid personal identification document • if applicable, an informal power of attorney (Vollmacht), including the identification document of the person granting the power of attorney and of the authorized representative unless it is a notarized power of attorney • Vehicle registration certificate / Zulassungsbescheinigung Teil I (registration certificate part I) (for registered vehicles) • Proof of a valid main inspection (Hauptuntersuchung, HU test report) in accordance with § 29 StVZO (Road Traffic Licensing Regulations) (for registered vehicles) • Vehicle title / Zulassungsbescheinigung Teil II (registration certificate part II) (for registered vehicles) • Operating permit (Betriebserlaubnis) (for vehicles exempt from registration) • the official license plates (for registered vehicles) • Insurance confirmation for the export license plate • Extract from the commercial register (Handelsregister) and trade registration (Gewerbeanmeldung) in original or certified copy, as well as identification documents of the person(s) authorized to represent the company (for companies) • Extract from the register of associations (Vereinsregister) in original or certified copy, as well as identification documents of the person(s) authorized to represent the association (for associations) • SEPA direct debit mandate (SEPA-Lastschriftmandat) or certificate of payment of the motor vehicle tax (Kfz-Steuer) As of 01.03.2014, a SEPA direct debit mandate can be issued for the collection of the motor vehicle tax. If cash payment is desired, this can now only be made at the Zollamt Marzahn (Marzahn customs office). • CoC certificate (Certificate of Conformity) or data confirmation from the manufacturer (if it is a new vehicle) • Expert report (Gutachten) in accordance with § 21 StVZO or § 13 EG-FGV (if it is not a new vehicle with type approval)

The fee is based on the Gebührenordnung für Maßnahmen im Straßenverkehr (fee schedule for road traffic measures) in its currently valid version and is, in the most favorable case, EUR 33.20. The production of the license plates is not a service provided by the Kfz-Zulassungsbehörde Berlin (motor vehicle registration authority). No information can be given about costs incurred separately.
