Apply for a particulate matter sticker (environmental badge)

• Your vehicle must meet the criteria of pollutant group 4 (green). • You cannot obtain a sticker for vehicles in pollutant group 1, 2 or 3. These are: • Petrol vehicles without a regulated catalytic converter, and • older diesel vehicles with emissions standard Euro 1 or worse • Euro 2 standard diesel vehicles, or Euro 1 diesel vehicles retrofitted with a particulate filter • Euro 3 standard diesel vehicles, or Euro 2 diesel vehicles retrofitted with a particulate filter • Note: For vehicles registered in Germany, a valid registration must be in place. • For online applications (optional): activated online ID function (eID) service.berlin.de/dienstleistung/329833/ You need: • Your electronic identity card (Personalausweis), the Union citizen's card (eID card), or the electronic residence permit (eAT), each with the online ID function (eID) activated, and your PIN, • an external card reader or a modern, NFC-enabled smartphone with an Android or iOS operating system, • the "AusweisApp" software • For online applications: consent to the electronic payment procedure The following payment methods are available to you: • Credit card (Visa, Mastercard) • PayPal You will receive an invoice after payment has been made.

• Application for the issuance of a Feinstaubplakette (particulate emissions sticker) You can submit the application online or in person at the vehicle registration office (Zulassungsbehörde). • Zulassungsbescheinigung Teil I (registration certificate part I) / Fahrzeugschein (vehicle registration document) / a manufacturer's certificate (Herstellerbescheinigung) (as a copy) For online applications, the Zulassungsbescheinigung / Fahrzeugschein / manufacturer's certificate must be submitted as an attachment or upload (uploaded in jpg or pdf format). • Zulassungsbescheinigung Teil I / Fahrzeugschein / a manufacturer's certificate (for in-person appointments) The following information must be visible in it: • Date of the vehicle's first registration • Fuel type (petrol, diesel, etc.) • Vehicle type (car, motorhome, or commercial vehicle) • Permissible total weight (up to 2.8 t, more than 2.8 t up to 3.5 t, or more than 3.5 t) • License plate number • Emission class

• 5.95 euros (minimum) per sticker (including 19% VAT)

3 to 4 weeks • The time until receipt of the sticker (Plakette) varies due to differing postal transit times (especially from abroad). • Tourists and other visitors to Berlin from abroad in particular are advised to apply for the sticker approximately 3 weeks before their stay in Berlin, to ensure timely delivery to their home address.
