Requirements

• Main residence in Berlin If Berlin is a secondary residence, the application can only be submitted in justified exceptional cases and with the consent of the authority responsible for the main residence. • Personal appearance is required

Documents you need

Paper photos are not printed on site. • Presentation of the EU driving licence • This also applies if the validity period of the EU driving licence has already expired. • If the EU driving licence has been lost or stolen, please submit details about the licence that are as detailed as possible (licence categories, place of issue, date of issue). If you still have a copy of the licence or a confirmation of the data from the issuing country, please submit this as a copy with your application. • For conversion of truck or bus driving licences (categories C and D) • Certificate of physical and mental fitness • Certificate of medical examination of eyesight additionally for category D (bus): • Function and performance test • Application for a Führungszeugnis (certificate of good conduct) (document type "0" for official purposes) Information on the medical examinations and examination forms can be found below as a link. • where applicable, proof of professional driver qualification (Berufskraftfahrer-Qualifikation, code 95)
