Driving licence - Apply for first-time issuance

• Main residence (Hauptwohnsitz) in Berlin If Berlin is your secondary residence (Nebenwohnsitz), the application can only be submitted in justified exceptional cases and with the consent of the authority responsible for your main residence. • Minimum age The application can be submitted at the earliest 6 months before reaching the minimum age. • Personal appearance is required

No paper photos are printed on site. • Details of the driving school and the examination office Name of the owner and address of the driving school, as well as name and address of the examination office; Once the examination admission has been received, it is no longer possible to change the examination office. • Proof of first aid training By way of exception, the following rule applies under § 19 Abs. 3 FeV (Fahrerlaubnis-Verordnung, Driving Licence Regulation) for certain occupational groups: "(3) In particular, proof of participation in a first aid training course within the meaning of paragraph 1 is not required for anyone who submits • a certificate of having passed the state medical or dental examination, or proof of a completed medical or dental training obtained abroad, or • a certificate of completed training in a health care profession regulated under federal law within the meaning of Article 74 paragraph 1 number 19 of the Grundgesetz (Basic Law), in one of the training occupations recognised by the state under the Berufsbildungsgesetz (Vocational Training Act) as Medizinischer/Medizinische, Zahnmedizinischer/Zahnmedizinische, Tiermedizinischer/Tiermedizinische or Pharmazeutisch-kaufmännischer/Pharmazeutischkaufmännische Fachangestellte/r (medical, dental, veterinary or pharmaceutical-commercial administrative assistant), or in a helper profession in the health and social welfare sector regulated under state law, or • a certificate of training as a Schwesternhelferin (nursing assistant), Pflegediensthelfer (care assistant), medical/paramedic training or rescue service training, or training as a Rettungsschwimmer (lifesaver) with the qualification for the German Lifesaving Badge (Rettungsschwimmer-Abzeichen) in silver or gold." Instruction courses on "immediate measures at the scene of an accident" are not recognised.
