Your signature is certified on • Documents that you must submit to a German authority, • Documents that you must submit to another body because of a law or another regulation. Only official certifications (amtliche Beglaubigungen) can be issued, not public certifications (öffentliche Beglaubigungen). If you need a public certification, please contact a notary's office (Notariat) (more under "Further information").

Requirements

• For submission to an authority or on the basis of a legal provision You must submit the document on which your signature is to be certified • to a German authority, or • to another body to which you are required to submit it on the basis of a law or other provision. • Excluded from certification We may not certify your signature on some documents, for example • on documents in a foreign language, • on contracts, • if there is no text next to the signature, • on documents that require a special form of certification, for example on these subjects: real property, entries in the Handelsregister (commercial register) or Vereinsregister (register of associations), family law and inheritance law, Vorsorgevollmachten (precautionary powers of attorney) (more under "Further information") • Personal appearance Only you in person can have your signature certified with us.
