Gambling - Apply for permission to hold a lottery / tombola

• If you want to hold a lottery or raffle, you need a permit. For local or regional small lotteries, an "Allgemeine Erlaubnis für Kleine Lotterien und Ausspielungen" (General Permit for Small Lotteries and Raffles) has been issued. Note: Under the current version of the general order (Allgemeinverfügung), the holding of small lotteries or raffles that fall under this general order and whose gaming capital does not exceed 10,000 euros no longer has to be reported to the LABO (Landesamt für Bürger- und Ordnungsangelegenheiten, State Office for Citizens' and Regulatory Affairs). If anything is unclear, the LABO must be contacted before the planned event is held. The absence of a reporting requirement for the event does not release organizers from their tax obligations or from preparing a statement of accounts, which must be submitted to the LABO only upon request. The application for a permit or the notification of an event can only be processed if all required documents have been submitted in full.
