Register of Residents (Melderegister) - Request Simple Information from the Register of Residents (einfache Melderegisterauskunft)

The person you are looking for must be uniquely identifiable from the information you provide. This means you must already have some data about the person you are asking about. Without unique identification through matching data, e.g. date of birth or a previous address known to you, no information can be provided. There must be no Auskunftssperre (information block) on the person in the Melderegister (residents' registration database). The consent of the person concerned is required if the registration data are to be used for advertising or address-trading purposes. This consent must be explicitly declared to private parties. If no consent has been declared, the registration authority (Meldebehörde) may not release the registration data for the purpose of advertising and/or address trading. If you are using the data for commercial purposes, you must state these purposes. The data obtained through the disclosure may then only be used for these purposes. Use for a different purpose can be punished with a fine. Prohibition of data pooling Data collected for the purpose of commercial address tracing through a registration register inquiry (Melderegisterauskunft) may not be reused by the data recipients (prohibition of data pooling).
