Apply for or Renew a Fischereischein (fishing licence)

• Main residence in Berlin • Fischereischein A (fishing licence A) for anglers From the age of 14, the Fischereischein A can be applied for after passing the angling examination (Anglerprüfung). If the main residence has been moved to Berlin, the Berlin Fischereischein A must be applied for by presenting the angling examination taken under the regulations applicable in the respective federal state, so that angling can be practised nationwide. If it is known that the main residence will exist in Berlin for only a short time, the Fischereischein A can be issued for one year. • Fischereischein J (fishing licence J) for young people Young people between 12 and 17 years of age can apply for a youth fishing licence (Jugendfischereischein) without an angling examination; this is valid for one year and can be extended twice. Holders of a Fischereischein J additionally need, in Berlin, membership in an angling club (Angelverein) and proof of expert instruction by a holder of a Fischereischein A or B, in order to be able to obtain a coarse-fish angling permit (Friedfisch-Angelkarte). • Fischereischein B (fishing licence B) This fishing licence is reserved for persons who have completed vocational training as a fisherman, completed training in fisheries science, or have practised commercial fishing for at least ten years.

• Application for the issuance/renewal of a Fischereischein (fishing licence) The application can be submitted in person during opening hours, or by a third party with a power of attorney (Vollmacht) and a copy of the applicant's identity card (Personalausweis) (front and back). • Sportfischerprüfung (recreational angling examination) or Raubfischqualifikation (predatory-fish qualification) Proof, in the original, of a passed Sportfischerprüfung or Raubfisch or Salmoniden qualification (predatory-fish or salmonid qualification), obtained before the Berlin Fischereischeinrecht (fishing licence law) came into force. • Proof of status as Altanglerin/Altangler (long-standing angler) Presentation, in the original, of a Fischereischein or an angling association membership card issued before 30 April 1995. • Identity card (Personalausweis) or passport Proof of main residence in Berlin by presenting a valid identity card or a valid passport together with a Meldebescheinigung (registration certificate) no older than one year. • Schülerausweis (student ID card) (for minors without an identity document) Proof of main residence in Berlin by presenting a valid Schülerausweis together with a declaration of consent and a copy of the front and back of the identity card of a parent/legal guardian (Erziehungsberechtigte/r), as well as their signature on the application form. • Photo A current photo for the issuance of a Fischereischein. • Anglerprüfung (angling examination) www.berlin.de/fischereiamt/angelfischen/anglerpruefung/ Proof, in the original, of a passed Anglerprüfung under Berlin's Fischereischeinrecht, or an equivalent examination from another Bundesland (federal state).
