• Eligible are children, adolescents, and young adults up to their 25th birthday • Exception: For benefits for participation in culture, sport, and leisure, children and adolescents are only eligible up to their 18th birthday. • There is no age limit when receiving Sozialhilfe (social assistance) or benefits under the Asylbewerberleistungsgesetz (Asylum Seekers' Benefits Act). • Trainees (Auszubildende) who receive Ausbildungsvergütung (training pay) do not receive benefits from the Bildungspaket (education package). • You receive benefits to secure your livelihood • Receipt of Sozialhilfe (social assistance) • Receipt of benefits under the Asylbewerberleistungsgesetz (Asylum Seekers' Benefits Act) • Receipt of Bürgergeld (citizen's allowance) • Receipt of Wohngeld (housing benefit) • Receipt of Kinderzuschlag (supplementary child allowance) • Supplementary assistance benefits under SGB XIV (Social Code Book XIV) in conjunction with benefits under SGB XII (Social Code Book XII) (formerly: Bundesversorgungsgesetz, BVG, Federal War Victims' Relief Act) • under further conditions, recipients of BAföG (federal education/training grant), BAB (vocational training assistance), and Ausbildungsgeld (training allowance), or • under certain circumstances in the case of low family income, for example if the family income is only just above the Sozialhilfesatz (social assistance rate). • You have a berlinpass-BuT (Berlin pass for education and participation benefits) with or without a photo The berlinpass-BuT serves as proof to the school, the Kita (daycare center), the Jugendamt, or the meal provider that your child is entitled to benefits from the Bildungspaket.
