• Application for educational assistance (Antrag auf Ausbildungsförderung) You can submit the application either online, or use the forms and submit the application in writing by post. • In addition to the application, there are many other application forms/forms (Formblätter) for establishing your entitlement that you must fill out (evidence of your personal and financial circumstances). • Proof of identity Valid personal identification documents; if applicable, the Meldebestätigung (registration confirmation) • Proof of residence status (Aufenthaltsstatus) for non-German nationals • Proof of income or declaration by the applicant Declaration and, if applicable, evidence of the expected income situation during the approval period. • Proof of assets of the applicant for example, for capital-forming insurance policies (life insurance, Bausparversicherung [building society savings insurance], Riester pension contracts, death benefit insurance, funeral provision, and similar), savings accounts, land, real estate, valuables, motor vehicles • Form: Einkommenserklärung (income declaration) (from parents / spouses / registered partners) Proof of income for the second-to-last calendar year (for example, Steuerbescheid [tax assessment notice], electronic income tax statement if applicable, benefit notice, pension notice) • Birth certificates of your own children • Depending on the specific individual case, additional documents may be required.
