Social Insurance - Submit a Pension Application

The gesetzliche Rentenversicherung (statutory pension insurance) is part of the statutory social insurance system. If you wish to draw a pension under the statutory pension insurance, the application can be taken at the Versicherungsamt (insurance office). This includes, for example, applications for Erwerbsminderungsrente (reduced earning capacity pension) and Altersrente (old-age pension). Procedure 1. Submit your pension application. • You can do this online with the Deutsche Rentenversicherung (German Pension Insurance). • Alternatively, you can arrange a personal Termin (appointment) at the Versicherungsamt. There you will be guided competently and individually through the application process in a confidential setting. 2. The Versicherungsamt records your application online and forwards it directly to your Rentenversicherungsträger (pension insurance provider). You will receive a corresponding confirmation of transmission.
