• Effective receipt A declaration of name was effectively received by the Standesamt I (Register Office I) in Berlin. • Right to receive a certificate Entitled to receive one are the person themselves, the parents, the grandparents, children or siblings, and spouses or civil partners; furthermore, all persons who can credibly demonstrate a legal or legitimate interest in the issuance of the certificate. • Requesting certificates Certificates can preferably be requested via the web forms (see "Forms", below), and if necessary also by post, by fax or in person. A request by telephone is not possible.

• Proof of family relationship or other evidence of legal or legitimate interest • Identity card (Personalausweis) or passport if appearing in person
