Birth abroad - Apply for first registration for German nationals without (ever having had) a domestic residence

• The child was born abroad. At the time the application is submitted, the child is a German national, stateless, a heimatloser Ausländer (a person with the legal status of "homeless foreigner" under German law), or a recognized foreign refugee. • Residence abroad The adult child, or the applicant, is not resident and has not been resident in Germany. The minor child and their parents are not resident and have not been resident in Germany. The child shares the residence of the parents who have custody. • Eligibility to apply Eligible to apply are the child themselves, their parents, their spouse or civil partner, or their children. • Supporting documents must be enclosed with the application in the original or as a certified copy. Simple copies or electronically submitted documents are unfortunately not sufficient.
