Species Protection - Apply for/Amend an EC Marketing Permit (EG-Vermarktungsgenehmigung)

• Protected animal/plant species The animal/plant species is listed in Annex A of "Regulation (EC) No. 338/97". • Legal origin and lawful acquisition of the protected animal/plant species • For an amendment/correction or replacement issue: your previous EC marketing permit is invalid or the original is no longer available

• Application for an EC marketing permit • Proof of legal origin Depending on the case, this proof refers to the following information: • Details of prior acquisition (free form of evidence, e.g. old invoices and photos, expert opinions, presentation of the trading route, and submission of accounting records) • Legal import (EC import permit) • Captive breeding (breeding confirmation from the nature conservation authority, registration confirmation, or submission of accounting records or breeding certificate from the breeder including details of the parent animals) • Legal removal from the wild (exemption/exception granted by the competent authority) • Where applicable, informative photos Photos should preferably be submitted digitally. Care must be taken to ensure they are informative. For live animals, the marking requirements in the Bundesartenschutzverordnung (Federal Species Protection Ordinance) must be observed (photo documentation is permitted, for example, for certain tortoise species). • Proof of the value of the goods If proof of the value of the goods is not provided, the authority will estimate the value. The value of the goods is the basis for calculating the administrative fees for the certificate. • Where applicable, further information for the identity check If there is doubt as to whether the evidence or documents submitted and the specimen named in the application are identical, further evidence must be submitted. • For a change/correction: your invalid/outdated EC marketing permit

The fee for the EG-Vermarktungsgenehmigung (EC marketing permit) depends on the effort involved and the outcome of the review of the application. The basis for calculation is the trade value of the specimen. The fee doubles for additional checks or queries. • 15.00 euros: trade value up to 200.00 euros • 30.00 euros: trade value up to 500.00 euros • 50.00 euros: trade value 500.00 to 1,000.00 euros • 75.00 euros: trade value 1,000.00 to 2,500.00 euros • 100.00 euros: trade value 2,500.00 to 5,000.00 euros • 200.00 euros: trade value 5,000.00 to 10,000.00 euros • 300.00 euros: trade value over 10,000.00 euros • 15.00 euros: for captive-bred offspring, for each additional certificate per litter/clutch in the same transaction • 7.50 to 150 euros: for musical instrument and travelling exhibition certificates Fee for the amendment/correction and reissue of an existing EG-Vermarktungsgenehmigung • 30.00 euros to 300.00 euros: reissue for lost or damaged/destroyed EG-Vermarktungsgenehmigungen • 7.50 euros to 150.00 euros: subsequent amendment of an EG-Vermarktungsgenehmigung
