Many vocational training programs in the fields of agriculture and forestry as well as horticulture already include the required expertise in plant protection. • Recognized vocational qualification www.gesetze-im-internet.de/pflschsachkv_2013/anlage_2.html You have a recognized vocational qualification, for example as a gardener, florist, farmer or forester. • Vocational training or degree with certificate of expertise • You have a completion certificate from vocational training or a degree program • together with a certificate from the training institution or examination body confirming that the knowledge and skills in plant protection were taught and examined during the training/degree program. • Proof of expertise from another EU country or certificates from other states regarding expertise in plant protection You have a certificate issued by the competent authority of another EU member state or another state that can be recognized as proof of expertise in plant protection. • Because of the special conditions, please inquire directly with the Pflanzenschutzamt (Plant Protection Office). • Sufficient knowledge of German The applicant must be able to understand and correctly apply the contents of the instructions for use of plant protection products. • Fortbildung (continuing education) www.berlin.de/pflanzenschutzamt/service/fortbildung/ • If you carry out an activity requiring expertise, you must attend a recognized continuing education course every 3 years. These courses can be attended nationwide, including at the Pflanzenschutzamt Berlin. • If you do not carry out, for more than three years, an activity for which proof of plant protection expertise is required, you are not obligated to take continuing education. Only before resuming an activity requiring expertise must you then attend a recognized continuing education course. • If your training was completed more than 3 years ago, you must have attended a recognized continuing education course within the past 3 years.

• Application for Pflanzenschutz-Sachkundenachweis (proof of expertise in plant protection) Possible online, or you use the form. • If you fill out the application online, please have your documents ready in the file formats PDF, JPG, PNG, or as a ZIP file. • Certificates and proof of qualification Attach the certificate of the vocational or academic qualification, or of the continuing training, through which you acquired the expertise. • Certificate of the required knowledge and skills Only necessary if the required knowledge and skills were taught and examined as part of training that is not included in the list of recognized vocational qualifications. • Certificate of participation in a continuing training course In addition, attach a current certificate of participation in a continuing training measure, less than 3 years old, if more than 3 years have passed between the issue date of the certificate and the date the application was submitted. • Kostenübernahmeerklärung (declaration of cost assumption) If the fees are covered by the employer or another body, please attach an informal declaration of cost assumption with the full billing address of the paying body. • Certified translation, if applicable For vocational or academic qualifications obtained abroad, a certified translation is required if the documents are written in a foreign language.
