Handelsregister (commercial register) – Issuing a copy

If you have information about corporations (e.g. GmbH, AG), commercial partnerships (e.g. OHG, KG, GmbH & Co. KG), or registered sole traders (e.K.) and need proof of it, you can request an extract, that is, a printout from the electronically maintained Handelsregister (commercial register). The Handelsregisterauszug (commercial register extract) reflects the company's current legal status. The following commercial register extracts can be issued: • The current extract contains only the current entries. • The chronological extract contains the current entries and entries already deleted since 2007. • The historical extract contains all entries before 2007. You can obtain the commercial register extract in simple form or certified as an official printout. If you need proof of authenticity for the commercial register extract to be recognized in another country, you can request an Apostille or a Legalisation. You also have the option of simply inspecting the commercial register.
