• Application www.berlin.de/gerichte/_assets/was-moechten-sie-erledigen/an You can submit the application for issuance of a Grundbuchauszug (land register extract) verbally (not by phone!) at the Grundbuchamt (land registry office) or in writing. • Legitimate interest If you have to demonstrate your legitimate interest, explain and provide evidence of the reason you need the Grundbuchauszug. Reasons include, for example, that you • hold a claim against the owner arising from an enforcement order (Vollstreckungstitel) and want to enforce it by execution against the property • want to grant the owner a loan • are a tenant and want to find out who the actual landlord is.

• Verbal or written application Your application must contain the following information: • Property designation (Grundbuchbezirk [land register district] and Blattnummer [sheet number], at minimum street and house number) • if known: details of the property owner Written application: • informal or by form • by post or by fax Verbal application: • in person at the Grundbucheinsichtenstelle (land register inspection office) of the court • present identity card or passport with Meldebescheinigung (registration certificate) • also possible with a power of attorney • Power of attorney If you have been authorised to inspect the land register, the power of attorney must be presented in the original. • Further evidence Documents to be presented to prove your legitimate interest include, for example: • your rental agreement, • the draft loan agreement, • the purchase agreement or its draft, • a Vollstreckungstitel (enforcement order), • a statement of claim against the owner.
