Assistance for the continued running of the household (shopping, cooking, cleaning the home and similar tasks) covers, during the incapacity of the person who runs the household: • reimbursement of expenses for the continued running of the household, or • assumption of the reasonable costs of temporary alternative accommodation for household members, where such accommodation is necessary in special cases in addition to or instead of continuing to run the household. The assistance can be provided as compensation for voluntary carers (a person close to the household, neighbourhood help) or service providers (for example delivery, pick-up and cleaning services).

Requirements

• There is no entitlement against primarily obligated benefit providers (for example, health insurance funds and long-term care insurance funds) • There is a separate household that is to be maintained • None of the persons living in the household is able to run the household • In the case of a need for long-term care, this must not exceed care level 1 (Pflegegrad 1)
