Birthday and wedding anniversaries

The service includes the honors • for age anniversaries on completion of the 80th, 85th, 90th and every subsequent year of life • for marriage and civil partnership anniversaries on the 50th, 60th, 65th, 70th and 75th anniversary of the marriage or civil partnership. The Federal President sends a congratulatory letter to those celebrating the completion of their 100th year of life, their 105th year of life and every birthday thereafter, as well as to couples on the occasion of their 65th, 70th and 75th wedding anniversary. From the 100th birthday onward, the Regierende Bürgermeister (Governing Mayor) sends congratulations, as well as from the Diamond Wedding anniversary onward. Those celebrating receive a congratulatory letter as well as a gift, either cash in the amount of 50.00 euros or KPM porcelain. The gift from the Regierende Bürgermeister is independent of income and assets.
