The Senatsverwaltung für Wirtschaft (Senate Department for Economic Affairs) is responsible for all companies, regardless of where the company is headquartered, that have received a contract for a security-relevant area of the State of Berlin. If Geheimschutzbetreuung (security clearance supervision) by another federal state or by the Federation already exists, that state or the Federation is responsible for the Geheimschutzbetreuung. Dual supervision (Doppelbetreuung) is to be avoided.
