The Fahrerqualifizierungsnachweis (FQN, driver qualification certificate) serves as proof of your existing professional driver qualification and, from 23.05.2021, replaces the entry of code number "95" in the driving licence (Führerschein). However, if code number "95" is already entered in your driving licence, it remains valid until the expiry date entered in column 12. Only after that date does the driver qualification certificate need to be issued. The FQN is a card similar in form and size to the driving licence, produced by the Bundesdruckerei (Federal Printing Office). How can you apply for the FQN? The FQN is issued, extended, or renewed only in connection with an application for the initial issuance, extension, renewal, or reissuance of a driving licence (Fahrerlaubnis) of class C or class D. Prospective and established professional drivers holding a driving licence of class C or class D must provide proof of their professional driver qualification. This requires a basic qualification and, thereafter, further training every 5 years. The verified professional driver qualification is issued as the FQN in card form.

Fees
