Satellite Positioning Service (SAPOS) - Applying for use in Berlin

SAPOS is the official nationwide satellite positioning service of the surveying administrations (Vermessungsverwaltungen) of the federal states of the Federal Republic of Germany. SAPOS enables anyone to determine position, locate, and navigate by satellite in a uniform, Europe-wide reference system, with high efficiency at selectable levels of accuracy. To use SAPOS in Berlin, you need a GNSS device in addition to registration with the responsible authority. Use in Berlin is free of charge. The following services are available to you: • GPPS/GPPS-PrO (Rinex data service / online calculation service): determination of coordinates through subsequent evaluation (postprocessing) • HEPS (Internet/Ntrip): determination of coordinates at the time of measurement (real-time positioning) Procedure • Submit an application to use the Satellite Positioning Service (SAPOS) in Berlin. You can do this online or in writing by post. • You will then receive your access data for use by email.
