Apply for Project Funding from the Hauptstadtkulturfonds (Capital Cultural Fund)

• Applications are possible until 01.10.2026. The application deadline ends on 01.10.2026 at 14:00. Online applications must be received by 14:00. After 14:00, submission is no longer possible; transmissions already in progress will then be automatically cancelled. • The project is of national and international relevance The projects must be developed for Berlin and have their premiere/opening in Berlin, but should be relevant to an audience or specialist public beyond Berlin. • Only one application is possible Per call for applications, only one application per institution, independent group, individual, etc. is permitted. For umbrella institutions with several venues/business divisions, one application per venue/business division is permitted. • At least four performances or events in Berlin At least four performances or events should be planned. The projects must be developed and presented in Berlin. The number of performances must be guaranteed by the venue/event location in the Spielstättenbestätigung (venue confirmation). The minimum number of performances does not apply to exhibitions, festivals, or similar formats. • The project has not yet started Only projects that have not yet started can be funded. • Festivals are funded for a maximum of two consecutive years. In the application form, please state whether and for which groups you are planning accessible offerings and how these are reflected, where applicable, in the financing plan. Project sponsors should take this goal into account when planning, carrying out, and following up on the project, within the framework of applicable legal provisions. Guidelines linked on the HKF website, among other resources, may be used for this purpose. • Previous year's funding (if applicable) Applicants from the fields of theater, dance, and music should already have received public funding at least once by the time of application. • You are deregistered from university/exmatriculated (exmatrikuliert) (if applicable) A grant cannot be awarded to persons who are enrolled (matriculated) at a university during the funding period. Violations can result in revocation of the funding. Applicants may still be enrolled at a university at the time of application. However, by the time any grant funds are approved, they must be deregistered (exmatrikuliert).
