Current notes on this service
Important notice regarding approvals (Zulassungen):
The Gefahrstoffverordnung (Hazardous Substances Ordinance) of 02.12.2024 introduces a risk-based framework of measures for asbestos. The classification into weakly bonded asbestos products, asbestos cement products and other asbestos products is being discontinued. As a result, the existing course system, which is based on product classification, must be adapted.
Approvals already granted under Annex I number 2.4.2 in the version in force on 1 January 2022 remain valid until 5 December 2028 pursuant to § 25 paragraph 8 GefStoffV (Hazardous Substances Ordinance). Businesses that, as of 5 December 2024, require an approval under § 11a paragraph 3 for the first time must apply for it by 5 December 2025 at the latest. The approval-relevant requirements of the rules and findings published under § 20 paragraph 4 must already be taken into account during the transition period.
Existing certificates of expertise (Sachkunden) remain valid (see the Überleitungshilfe [transition guide]).
The approval for activities in the high-risk area includes the permit required from 19.12.2026 for demolition activities.
