Sports promotion - Apply for grants for national/international sports events

• Recognized sports organization The sports organization must • be recognized as eligible for funding by the Senate member responsible for sport, or • be a Spitzenverband (national umbrella federation) within the Deutscher Olympischer Sportbund (German Olympic Sports Confederation). • have proper management and be able to prove that the funds are used as intended. • Transparenzdatenbank Berlin (Berlin transparency database) <https://transparenzdatenbank.berlin.de/oberflaeche/?dateiname=organisation_suche_transparenz.cfm&anwender_id=5&cfide=0.069725214681> The sports organization is registered in the Transparenzdatenbank (transparency database) of the State of Berlin. • Organizer/host of a sports event in Berlin You are the organizer or host of an international or national sports event to be held in the State of Berlin. • Public interest There is a significant public interest on the part of the State of Berlin in holding the sports event. Your sports event will generate a positive return for the city and thereby create added value for the State of Berlin. • Dependence on public funds Your event cannot be held, or cannot be held in full, without the provision of public funds. • Measures have not yet begun • Grants (Zuwendungen) are only approved for measures that have not yet begun. • If you must enter into legal obligations before a Zuwendungsbescheid (grant approval notice) is issued, apply informally by email for early commencement of the measure. Commencing the measure before the Zuwendungsbescheid is issued is at your own risk. • Use of own funds (Eigenmittel) Grants are only awarded if the grant recipient (Zuwendungsempfänger) also demonstrates their interest in holding the event through an appropriate use of own funds. An own-funds contribution is considered appropriate if it amounts to at least 10 percent of the unavoidable funding shortfall.

All possible sources of income, including grant funds (Zuwendungsmittel) from third parties, must be fully drawn on to cover these expenses. • The expenses must be necessary and appropriate. Expenses that the organizer is required to bear under international or national guidelines can be considered eligible for funding, as well as the expenses that are additionally required for the preparation, holding and follow-up of the sports event. • Staffing plan (Stellenplan) including job descriptions If staff subject to social insurance contributions are or were employed for the event/measure applied for. • Statistical information and description of the sports event • Information on the Stadtrendite (return generated for the city) • Project outline (Projektskizze) The project outline presents the structure of the event. It includes: • event-related contractual partners (tasks, rights, services) • financial flows
