Apply for recognition and funding of services providing support in everyday life

Offers to support daily life (Angebote zur Unterstützung im Alltag) provide care and relief services for people in need of care. They help people in need of care to continue managing their daily lives as independently as possible, to maintain social contacts, and to relieve caregivers. They are intended to help people in need of care remain in their familiar home environment for as long as possible. The volunteers and helpers working in the care services are professionally guided and supported by qualified specialists. They accompany, engage, and activate people in need of care, in particular those with dementia, mental illness, or intellectual disability, either in care groups or at home. Other offers, in particular commercial ones, provide relief in daily life through individual help, mobility assistance, or support with household management, e.g. through household-related services such as cleaning the home or shopping assistance. For the use of services recognized by the State of Berlin, the Entlastungsbetrag (relief amount) under § 45b SGB XI (Book XI of the German Social Code) can be used, which is available to all people in need of care who are cared for at home, in the amount of 125 euros per month. In order to be permitted to bill Betreuungs- und Entlastungsleistungen (care and relief services) with the Pflegekassen (long-term care insurance funds), recognition under state law as an Angebot zur Unterstützung im Alltag (offer to support daily life) is required.
