Benefits under the Asylbewerberleistungsgesetz (Asylum Seekers' Benefits Act) - Apply for Payment

• You are a foreign national, are actually present in the federal territory (Bundesgebiet), and meet certain requirements under residence law sozialrecht.berlin.de/kategorie/rundschreiben/rs-soz-03-2026 A foreign national is entitled to benefits if they hold one of the following residence permits (Aufenthaltstitel): • AE (Aufenthaltserlaubnis – residence permit) under Section 23 (1) AufenthG (Aufenthaltsgesetz – Residence Act) (admission of groups of persons) • AE under Section 24 AufenthG (temporary protection in the event of mass influx under EC Directive 2001/55/EC) • AE under Section 25 (4) sentence 1 AufenthG (urgent humanitarian/personal reasons) • AE under Section 25 (5) AufenthG, provided the Duldung (toleration of stay/suspension of deportation) has not yet been in effect for 18 months (legal or factual obstacles to departure whose removal is not foreseeable) • Suspension of deportation (Duldung) under Section 60a (1) AufenthG (group regulation) • Suspension of deportation (Duldung) under Section 60a (2) AufenthG (legal or factual obstacles to departure whose removal is foreseeable, or for which the person is themselves responsible) • Residence is deemed tolerated under Section 71a (3) in conjunction with Section 71 AsylVfG (Asylverfahrensgesetz – Asylum Procedure Act) (subsequent asylum application) • Residence is deemed tolerated under Section 71a (3) AsylVfG (second asylum application) • You have been granted benefits under the Asylbewerberleistungsgesetz (AsylbLG – Asylum Seekers' Benefits Act)

• Identity and residence documents • Meldebestätigung (registration confirmation) • The scope of the documents required, in particular proof of income and assets, depends on the particulars of the individual case.
