• Voluntary association of Handwerksinnungen (craft guilds) Voluntary association of craft guilds (Handwerksinnungen) of the same trade or of trades that are closely related in terms of subject matter or economically • Joint state guild association (Landesinnungsverband) for several federal states • no other state guild association No other state guild association (Landesinnungsverband) yet exists for the same trade, or for trades closely related in terms of subject matter or economically, in the area of the state guild association, or an exceptional case is established • Statutes of the state guild association The statutes of the state guild association (Landesinnungsverband) must contain provisions on (§§ 80 sentence 4, 55 para. 2, 83 para. 1 no. 1 HwO [Handwerksordnung - Crafts and Trades Code]): • Name, registered seat, and district of the state guild association • Its tasks • The admission, withdrawal, and expulsion of members • The rights and obligations of members as well as the basis for assessing membership fees • The convening of the members' assembly, voting rights within it, and the manner of passing resolutions • The formation of the board • The recording of resolutions of the members' assembly and the board • The preparation of the budget plan as well as the preparation and auditing of the annual accounts • The requirements for amending the statutes • The dissolution of the state guild association • As well as the use of the assets remaining upon dissolution of the state guild association

• Application for approval of the statutes of a joint Landesinnungsverband (state guild association) for several federal states Submit an informal written application. • The application must contain information on which Handwerksinnungen (craft guilds) intend to join together to form the Landesinnungsverband. • It must also state the area/federal states for which the joint Landesinnungsverband is to be formed. • It must also be explained whether a Landesinnungsverband for the same trade, or for trades that are professionally or economically related, already exists within the area of the new Landesinnungsverband. Where a Landesinnungsverband already exists, it must be specifically justified why an exceptional case applies and why an additional Landesinnungsverband is needed. • Statutes of the Landesinnungsverband The statutes must be enclosed with the application. The proper adoption of the statutes must be evidenced by suitable documents.
