Fishing - Apply for a permit for electrofishing

Using electric current to catch fish is generally prohibited. For certain purposes you can obtain an exemption permit (Ausnahmegenehmigung). These include: catching spawning fish, fisheries stock surveys and stock studies for stock management measures (Hegemaßnahmen), for research and teaching purposes, and for fisheries water management. In addition, various requirements are placed on the electrofishing equipment and on the person operating it. Procedure 1. Submit an application for an exemption permit allowing you to catch fish using electric current. 2. The competent authority (zuständige Behörde) checks your application for completeness and whether the technical requirements for an exemption permit are met. 3. Once the review is complete, you will be notified of the rejection or the approval in a Bescheid (official notice).
