Radiation protection - notify the operation or a material modification of a technical X-ray installation

• Notification at least four weeks before commissioning and no grounds for refusal A technical X-ray facility under § 19 (1) StrlSchG (Radiation Protection Act) may be operated if it is notified to the competent authority at least four weeks before commissioning and the authority's review reveals no grounds for refusal. The same applies to a material change in the operation of a technical X-ray facility under § 19 (5) StrlSchG.

• Notification or application for "Approval for commissioning a non-medical X-ray facility or interference radiation device (Störstrahler)" Please submit a written application by post. • Proof of expertise in radiation protection under the StrlSchV (Radiation Protection Ordinance), with proof of updates • Certificate and test report from the expert on the radiation protection inspection • Bauartzulassungsschein (type approval certificate) with Stückprüfungsbestätigung (unit test confirmation), if applicable (Bauartzulassung = for the device in general; Stückprüfungsbestätigung = for the specific device) • CE declaration of conformity, if applicable • Personnel deployment i.e. evidence of knowledge of radiation protection and of updates to this knowledge for personnel working on the X-ray equipment
