If, after 5 years, you wish to continue offering these courses or individual modules, you must apply for an extension of the recognition. Procedure • As a provider of specialized knowledge courses, submit an informal written application for an extension of the recognition of a specialized knowledge course or individual module. • The competent authority (zuständige Stelle) examines your application. • As a result of the examination of the application, a notice (Bescheid) on the extension of the recognition of the specialized knowledge course or individual module is issued.

Requirements

• The provider's head office is in Berlin. • It should be possible for participants to complete the course part-time or alongside their job. • The provider employs suitably qualified instructors. Suitably qualified instructors have completed vocational training or a university degree and have the specialist knowledge required to teach the relevant subject matter. • A minimum scope of 270 clock hours is provided for the Sachkundelehrgang (specialist knowledge course). The content and scope of the specialist knowledge instruction for the individual modules are regulated by law. • The modules conclude with an examination. The modules must conclude with an examination and should be designed so that not only theoretical knowledge is conveyed, but participants are also given the opportunity to apply it in a practice-oriented way through exercises. • A transparent and verifiable procedure is in place for conducting the module examinations.

Fees

Upon renewal of the recognition, the fee (Gebühr) may be reduced by one third. • 1.654,00 Euro for the recognition per Sachkundelehrgang (specialized training course) • 827,00 Euro for the recognition of individual modules
