The Zweckentfremdungsverbot (ban on misappropriation of housing) protects residential space from misappropriation through vacancy, demolition, and conversion into commercial premises or holiday flats. If you suspect that residential space is being misappropriated, you can report this to the responsible authority. Please note that not every form of subletting or vacancy of residential space necessarily constitutes a violation of the Zweckentfremdungsverbot. You can also attach digital photos to your completed report form. • If needed, you will receive a confirmation of receipt. • Your report is received by the responsible Bezirksamt (district office) and reviewed. Please note that, for data protection reasons, the authorities cannot give informants any information about the proceedings.
