• Applications are possible from 25.03.2026 to 28.05.2025 The application deadline ends on 28.05.2026 at 11:00 a.m. Online applications must be received by 11:00 a.m. After 11:00 a.m. submission is no longer possible; transmissions already in progress will then be automatically aborted. • Only one application per person is possible • You live and work in Berlin • You are a professional author • Application in German The application itself must be completed and submitted in German. • You are applying as an individual person A Stipendium (stipend/grant) is a person-related form of funding, so only natural persons may apply. Applications from groups/GbR (civil-law partnerships) are not possible. • Double funding/simultaneous funding or stipends • The Arbeitsstipendium (work stipend) for non-German-language literature cannot be combined with a stipend from the Deutscher Literaturfonds (German Literature Fund) covering the same funding period. • An application for the Arbeitsstipendium is possible even if you have applied for other stipends. However, you must inform us if you receive an offer of another stipend, so that it can be checked whether the two can be combined. • The Arbeitsstipendium can be combined with other stipends from the State of Berlin up to an amount of 24,000 euros per year. • The Arbeitsstipendium can be freely combined with other stipends from domestic and foreign funders not named here. In this case, please make sure to find out whether the funding conditions of the other stipend rule out simultaneous acceptance. • Combinations with project funding are permitted. • No enrollment (Immatrikulation) or teaching activity as a professor at a university • Applicants must not be enrolled in the standard course of study (Regelstudium) of a literary training program (e.g. Leipzig, Hildesheim, Biel, Vienna, or others) at the time of application, during the selection process, or during the funding period, and must not be employed as a professor at a university. • If your studies were completed only a short time ago, proof of completion must be provided without being asked (please attach the certificate to your CV).
