Apply for a working grant in the field of jazz

• Applications are possible from 03.08.2026 to 14.09.2026 The application deadline ends on 14.09.2026 at 2:00 p.m. Online applications must be received by 2:00 p.m. After 2:00 p.m. submission is no longer possible; transmissions already in progress will then be automatically cancelled. • Applicants must be registered with their main residence in Berlin • For groups, more than 50% of the group members must be registered with their main residence in Berlin. For duos, both group members must have their primary residence in Berlin. The main residence in Berlin must be maintained for the duration of the Arbeitsstipendium (working grant). Any change of residence must be reported immediately to the Senatsverwaltung für Kultur (Senate Department for Culture). • For non-EU citizens: you may apply if your currently valid Aufenthaltstitel (residence permit) or your certificate of right of residence contains a note authorizing you to work. • You can provide evidence of a completed artistic education and/or several years of professional artistic activity in the field of jazz • Only one application per person/group is possible • There is no waiting period for former Arbeitsstipendiat/-innen (working grant recipients) • You apply as an individual person or as a group (GbR) A Stipendium (grant) is a form of funding tied to individuals. Therefore only natural persons and GbRs (civil-law partnerships) are eligible legal forms for applying. • Double funding / simultaneous funding or grants • All Stipendien (grants) of the State of Berlin (Arbeitsstipendien [working grants], Recherchestipendien [research grants] and Kulturaustauschstipendien [cultural exchange grants]) can be combined up to a total of 24,000 euros per year. • Combinations with grants from domestic and/or foreign funding institutions are permitted. Please check the funding conditions of the other grant to find out whether simultaneous acceptance is excluded. • Combinations with project funding are permitted. • No enrollment (Immatrikulation) or teaching activity as a professor at a university • At the time of application, during the selection process, and during the funding period, applicants may not be enrolled in the standard course of study of a degree program, be pursuing a doctorate, or be working as a professor at a university. • If your studies were completed only recently, proof of completion must be provided without being requested (please attach the certificate to your CV).

• Application for funding through the Arbeitsstipendium Jazz (Jazz Work Grant) You can submit the application online only. Please have all required documents and evidence ready for upload in the formats PDF, JPG, PNG and MP3. • Artistic curriculum vitae (CV) and audio samples • For the artistic CV, please use the provided template. (max. 5 MB) • Optionally, you can also upload a portfolio of your artistic work from the last 12 months. (max. 5 MB) • Please upload two audio samples as mandatory attachments. (max. 6 MB per file) • Detailed description of the work project (mandatory attachment) • For the detailed description of the work project, the maximum length is 4 DIN A4 pages. (max. 5 MB, permitted file format: PDF file) • Optionally, for a tour grant or a stay abroad, you can upload proof of the feasibility of the project (written confirmations, invitations, etc.). (max. 5 MB) • Proof of identity and proof of main residence in Berlin (mandatory attachments) Only currently valid identity documents are accepted (front and back of each document, max. 5 MB per file, permitted file formats: PDF, JPG, PNG): • a copy of your Personalausweis (identity card), or • a copy of the page from your passport or passport substitute plus a Meldebescheinigung (registration certificate), or a copy of the Meldebestätigung (registration confirmation) from the Einwohnermeldeamt (residents' registration office) • Non-EU citizens only: In addition to the proof of identity and proof of main residence in Berlin, you must upload a copy of your currently valid Aufenthaltstitel (residence permit) or certificate of right of residence (front and back). • Group applications only (but mandatory in that case): GbR (Gesellschaft bürgerlichen Rechts – partnership under civil law) contract, if a GbR already exists, or a declaration of association of artists signed by all group members (max. 5 MB) Please upload a copy of your fully signed GbR contract or, optionally, the completed declaration of association of artists.
