Apply for the Kulturaustauschstipendium Global (Global Cultural Exchange Scholarship)

• Applications are possible from 03.08.2026 to 15.09.2025 The application deadline ends on 15.09.2026 at 2:00 PM. Online applications must be received by 2:00 PM. After 2:00 PM, submission is no longer possible; transmissions already in progress will then be automatically terminated. • Only one application per person is possible • You live and work in Berlin • Individual artists and groups of artists may apply The group must confirm this partnership through a joint declaration or an existing GbR (Gesellschaft bürgerlichen Rechts, civil law partnership) agreement. • You are a professionally working artist/curator. • The application must be completed and submitted in German. Attachments may be written in German or English. • Double funding/simultaneous funding or scholarships • An application for the Kulturaustauschstipendium (cultural exchange scholarship) is possible even if you have applied for other scholarships. However, you must report if you receive an offer for another scholarship, so that it can be checked whether both can be combined. • The Kulturaustauschstipendium can be combined with other scholarships from the State of Berlin up to a total of 24,000 euros per year. • No enrollment or teaching position as a professor at a university Applicants must not be enrolled at a university (including for the purpose of a doctorate) or employed as a professor at a university at the time of application.

• Application for funding through the Kulturaustauschstipendium Global (Global Cultural Exchange Scholarship) You can only submit the application online. Please have all required documents and evidence ready to upload as PDF. • Project description (max. 5 pages) Content description of the project abroad (topics, goals, etc.) and the type of cooperation. • Letter of invitation from the cooperation partner(s) • CV / portfolio (max. 10 MB, PDF file, max. 10 pages) • The CV/portfolio should list your career history, scholarships, awards, and a selection of important projects from recent years. • For groups, an attachment for all members. • Proof of Berlin address and residence permit • Citizens with German citizenship: copy of a valid Personalausweis (identity card) (front and back). • Citizens from EU countries: copy of a valid identity card or passport and copy of the Meldebestätigung (registration confirmation) (see "Further information"). • Citizens from non-EU countries with a residence permit card (Aufenthaltstitelkarte): The residence permit card counts as both an identity document and a registration confirmation. Please upload the relevant page showing your Berlin address. • Citizens from non-EU countries without a residence permit card: copy of a valid identity card or passport and copy of the Meldebestätigung (registration confirmation) (see "Further information") and copy of the valid Aufenthaltstitel (residence permit) or the certificate of right of residence (front and back). Note: If no valid residence permit is in place during the period of the application and the scholarship, no scholarship will be granted. • Only for group applications (mandatory in that case): GbR (partnership under civil law) agreement, if a GbR already exists, or a declaration of association of artists signed by all group members The declaration must be signed by all applicants involved – just as the registered address must be proven for all group members. If a GbR agreement already exists, please submit a copy of it.
