Fahrschulerlaubnis (driving school licence) - Apply for issuance

• The applicant must be at least 25 years old, and there must be no facts indicating that they would be unreliable in running a driving school. • There must be no facts justifying the assumption that the applicant would be unable to fulfil the duties of a driving school owner. • The applicant must hold the Fahrlehrerlaubnis (driving instructor licence) for the class for which the Fahrschulerlaubnis (driving school licence) is being applied for. • The applicant must have worked full-time as a driving instructor for at least two years, employed by the holder of a Fahrschulerlaubnis (driving school licence). • The applicant must have completed a course of at least 70 lessons of 45 minutes each on Fahrschulbetriebswirtschaft (driving school business management). • The applicant must have available the required classroom, the required teaching materials, and the training vehicles designated for driving instruction in the relevant Fahrerlaubnisklasse (driving licence class). • For holders of a Fahrlehrerlaubnis (driving instructor licence) issued abroad: authorisation or proof of qualification You must be authorised in another state to independently train driving pupils, or must submit proof, issued in that other state, of your qualification to independently train driving pupils. • For holders of a Fahrlehrerlaubnis (driving instructor licence) issued abroad: you must meet all requirements that also apply under German law for your Fahrlehrerlaubnis class. • For legal entities or legally capable partnerships: there must be no facts indicating that the persons authorised to represent the entity by law, by the articles of association, or by sole power of procuration would be unreliable. • For legal entities or legally capable partnerships: a person must be appointed as the responsible head of the training business who meets the requirements of § 18 (1) nos. 1-5 FahrlG (Driving Instructor Act).
