Driving instructor training establishments - apply for recognition

• There must be no facts that would make the holder, or the person appointed to head the Fahrlehrer-Ausbildungsstätte (driving instructor training establishment), appear unreliable to run a driving instructor training establishment. • The person responsible for heading the Fahrlehrer-Ausbildungsstätte must be capable of competently supervising the instruction, and must guarantee that the duties under § 40 FahrLG (Fahrlehrergesetz – Driving Instructor Act) are fulfilled. • The Fahrlehrer-Ausbildungsstätte must have a sufficient number of teaching staff available who are able, within their area of responsibility, to impart to trainee driving instructors the competencies required under § 7 FahrLG. • The required classroom, teaching materials and training vehicles must be available. • A suitable training plan must be in place.

Where the fitness of a person intended to serve as the responsible head of a driving instructor training establishment must be proven, mental and physical fitness must be proven again in each case. • Current certificate of tax compliance (Bescheinigung in Steuersachen) service.berlin.de/dienstleistung/324713/ from the applicant's responsible tax office (Finanzamt) • Proof of the requirement under § 8 para. 1 no. 4 DV-FahrlG (Driving Instructor Licensing Ordinance) (three years as a licensed driving instructor (FSE/vL) or three years as a full-time teacher or a degree in mechanical engineering or a degree in educational science or eligibility for judicial office) • Additionally for legal entities: extract from the commercial register (Handelsregister) • Scale drawing/plan of the classrooms with details of their equipment (inspection/approval of the rooms, determination of the number of students, 1.5 square metres per student; teaching aids must be available in accordance with the equipment guideline, plus models) • Lease agreement/contract for the rental of the rooms and confirmation from the property owner regarding commercial use • Declaration that the prescribed teaching aids are available • Training plan or declaration that training is provided in accordance with the framework plan under § 2 para. 1 FahrlAusbO (Driving Instructor Training Ordinance) • List of the number and type of training vehicles • Registration of the training vehicles in the name of the driving school owner or company/copy of the registration document part 1 (Zulassung Teil 1) • List of teaching staff (see application) together with proof of the corresponding qualification
