Fahrlehrerlaubnis (driving instructor license) - Apply for an Ausbildungsfahrlehrerlaubnis (license to train driving instructors)

Wer Fahrlehreranwärter/-innen ausbildet (Ausbildungsfahrlehrer/-in), bedarf der Erlaubnis (Ausbildungsfahrlehrerlaubnis). Anyone who trains driving instructor candidates (Ausbildungsfahrlehrer/-in, training driving instructor) requires a permit (Ausbildungsfahrlehrerlaubnis, training driving instructor permit). The Ausbildungsfahrlehrer/-in (training driving instructor) and the head of the Ausbildungsfahrschule (training driving school) require a 5-day induction course under § 16 and § 35 FahrlG (Fahrlehrergesetz, Driving Instructor Act) for this. The seminar establishes these prerequisites. On successful completion, the participant receives a certificate of attendance (Teilnahmebescheinigung) to present to the administrative authority as evidence under § 30 No. 10 FahrlG. The Ausbildungsfahrlehrerlaubnis is granted in writing upon application. It may be issued subject to conditions — including retroactively — where this is necessary to ensure the proper conduct of the training and its supervision. The Ausbildungsfahrlehrerlaubnis may only be exercised together with a Fahrschulerlaubnis (driving school permit) or within an employment relationship with the holder of a driving school under § 35. In addition, a 1-day refresher course for training driving instructors and heads of training driving schools must be completed every 4 years under § 53 (3) FahrlG.
