Requirements
• You hold custody (Personensorgerecht) of your minor German child
If you do not hold custody, the residence permit (Aufenthaltserlaubnis) can only be granted at the authority's discretion.
• You live with the child in a family unit
• Your current residence status entitles you to obtain the residence permit
• You are already residing in the federal territory with a residence permit (Aufenthaltstitel) or a permission to reside (Aufenthaltsgestattung).

This certifies that your current residence permit (Aufenthaltstitel) remains valid within federal territory beyond its previous expiry date.
