Apply for a work/research grant in the field of early music, new music and sound art

• Applications are possible from 24.11.2025 to 13.01.2026 The application deadline ends on 13.01.2026 at 14:00 (CET). Online applications must be received by 14:00. After 14:00, submission is no longer possible; transmissions already in progress will then be automatically aborted. Late submission is not possible. • Your primary residence is in Berlin • You are an artist or curator of Neue Musik (new music)/sound art or Alte Musik (early music) You have completed an artistic education and/or provide proof of several years of artistic activity in Berlin in the field of Alte Musik and/or Neue Musik and/or sound art. • You are recognized through your artistic work and provide evidence of this with corresponding work samples. • Applicants of non-European nationality may only apply if their passport contains a note from the Business Immigration Service (BIS) of the Landesamt für Einwanderung (LEA) [State Office for Immigration] permitting them to engage in self-employed activity. • Double funding/simultaneous funding or scholarships • All scholarships of the State of Berlin (Arbeitsstipendien [work scholarships], Recherchestipendien [research scholarships] and Kulturaustauschstipendien [cultural exchange scholarships]) can be combined up to a total of 24,000 euros per year. • Combinations with scholarships from domestic and/or foreign funding institutions are permitted. Please check the funding conditions of the other scholarship to see whether simultaneous acceptance is excluded. • Combinations with project funding are permitted. • No enrollment and no teaching activity as a professor at a university At the time of application and during the funding period, applicants may not be enrolled (including for the purpose of a doctorate) or employed as a professor at a university.

Application for funding through the Arbeits- und Recherchestipendium (Working and Research Grant) for Alte Musik (Early Music), Neue Musik (New Music) and Klangkunst (Sound Art) • You can only submit the application online. • Please note that ATTACHMENTS can only be uploaded in the following file formats: PDF, JPG, PNG and MP3 • The application form, including the short description of the work project, must be written in German • Artistic activity • Artistic curriculum vitae (max. 5 MB, permitted file formats: PDF, JPG, PNG) • You can additionally upload documentation of your artistic work over the last 12 months. (max. 5 MB, permitted file formats: PDF, JPG, PNG) • Please upload two work samples as mandatory attachments (max. 6 MB per file, permitted file formats: PDF, JPG, PNG, MP3 file, as well as links). • Work project • For the detailed description of the work project, the maximum length is 4 DIN A4 pages (max. 5 MB, permitted file format: PDF file) • Proof of identity, proof of Berlin registration address and of residence permit (jpg, png, pdf file, max. 5 MB per file) • For citizens with German citizenship: copy of valid Personalausweis (identity card) (front and back) • For citizens from EU countries: copy of identity card (front and back) or copy of passport or passport substitute AND Meldebestätigung (registration confirmation) (copy) or Meldebescheinigung (registration certificate) (see "Further information") • Citizens from non-EU countries: copy of valid identity card (front and back) or passport and Meldebestätigung (registration confirmation) (copy) or Meldebescheinigung (registration certificate) (see "Further information") and copy of the valid Aufenthaltstitel (residence permit) or the certificate of right of residence (front and back) or Fiktionsbescheinigung (fiction certificate). This must include a note on work permission. • Only for duo applications: GbR (partnership under civil law) contract, if a GbR already exists, or declaration of association of artists signed by all group members (max. 5 MB, permitted file formats: PDF, JPG, PNG)
