Driving instructor license (Fahrlehrerlaubnis) - Apply for trainee instructor authorization (Anwärterbefugnis)

• Proof of mental, physical, professional and pedagogical fitness must be provided. • There must be no facts that would make the applicant appear unreliable for the driving instructor (Fahrlehrer) profession. • Completion of vocational training in a recognized trade/profession (Lehrberuf) or equivalent prior training. • Holder of a Class B driving license (Fahrerlaubnis) for at least three years and, if the driving instructor license (Fahrlehrerlaubnis) is also to be granted for Class A, CE or DE, holder of a Class A2, CE or D driving license, respectively, for at least two years as well. • Necessary knowledge of the German language to carry out the professional activity

The Fahrlehrerprüfung (driving instructor examination) is conducted by a specially established Prüfungsausschuss (examination board). Examination fees are charged separately for each part of the driving instructor examination.
