Commercial road haulage - Apply for a driver certificate for cross-border road haulage

If you employ drivers from non-EU countries, you must apply for a Fahrerbescheinigung (driver attestation) for them. The Fahrerbescheinigung (driver attestation) is issued, on application by the holder of a Gemeinschaftslizenz (Community licence), for every driver who is a national of a third country and is lawfully employed by the transport undertaking. The Fahrerbescheinigung (driver attestation) becomes the property of the transport undertaking. The undertaking must provide the driver with the original when transport operations are carried out under a Community licence issued to the undertaking. The transport undertaking must keep a certified copy of the Fahrerbescheinigung on its business premises. The Fahrerbescheinigung is issued for a maximum of five years. In the event of violations, the Fahrerbescheinigung and, where applicable, even the Community licence may be withdrawn.
