Requirements
• Applications are possible from 03.06.2026 to 14.07.2026.
The application deadline ends on 14.07.2026 at 2:00 pm. Online applications (Anträge) must be received by 2:00 pm. After 2:00 pm, submission is no longer possible; transmissions already in progress will then be automatically cancelled.

Eligible to apply are all subordinate institutions, non-incorporated establishments (nicht rechtsfähige Anstalten) and public-law foundations (Stiftungen des öffentlichen Rechts) in the cultural sector of the State of Berlin, as well as institutions of district-level cultural work; also privately organized cultural institutions that receive institutional funding from federal, state, district or DKLB (Deutsche Klassenlotterie Berlin – German Class Lottery Berlin) funds.
• Privately organized cultural institutions that receive ongoing, long-term project funding may only apply if they:
• receive structural funding (financing of ongoing operations), and
• have their own production and event venue, and
• maintain a curated program.
• The applicant is an institution based in Berlin.
• The majority of project participants live (primary residence) and work in Berlin.
• The project must not have started yet.
• Exhibition fees and minimum fee thresholds must be taken into account in the financing plan.
• The funded projects must be developed in Berlin during the funding years and made visible exclusively in Berlin through public-facing events.
• Pure film festivals and film series are excluded from funding.
• Scope of funding
• Project applications with an application volume of more than €100,000 for the year 2028 are not permitted. Applying for funding in 2028 of €100,000 or less remains possible. This rule does not apply to the funding year 2027. For the year 2027, applications with an application volume of over €100,000 remain permitted.
• Funding priority is given to artistic (co-)production resources. Applicants who do not receive structural funding may also claim project-related rental costs and other ongoing personnel and material costs.
• Funding covers only expenses incurred in Berlin that are directly related to the project.
• The project can be funded for one year (2027 or 2028) or two years (2027 and 2028).

• The financing plan must be balanced. Total income must equal total expenditure.
• Note on projects: The annual amounts are binding. Funds not used in the first year cannot be carried over to the following year.
